Scholarship Description

The objective of the Southeast Chapter is to reward and encourage an AIST Southeast Chapter high school senior or college undergraduate student, preparing for a career in Engineering or the sciences, by providing a grant of financial support during attendance full or part time at any accredited university or college.

The scholarship will be awarded to a Southeast Chapter student pursuing a career in engineering, the sciences or other majors relating to iron and steel production, principally on the basis of SAT or ACT scores. Non first year students will be awarded on the basis of GPA from an accredited college or institution. If there are no applicants in engineering or the sciences, other majors will be considered. Consideration will be given for extracurricular activities and the student's written essay. This scholarship fund is for members of the Material Advantage program, children, stepchildren, grandchildren or spouses of active (dues paid) Southeast Chapter members for two consecutive years. The student must be accepted in an eligible full or part time course of study at an accredited university or college. Applications must be received by July of the year prior to entrance into said college or university.
