The Alexander Eastman Foundation has established a scholarship program for students pursuing further education in a health care field. The program is designed to provide scholarship grants from $200 to $2,500 to health care workers who seek to upgrade their professional skills to:
* utilize new equipment and medical techniques
* improve knowledge in a specific health care area
* add to professional qualifications to ensure job security or career advancement
ELIGIBILITY
Applicants to the program must meet the following eligibility requirements:
* be currently employed as nurses, nurses aides, home health care providers or allied health workers (volunteer or paid) in health care facilities in the greater Derry area including Derry, Londonderry, Windham, Chester, Hampstead or Sandown.
* be entering or enrolled in full-time, part-time or short-term program of study in health fields including, but not limited to: medicine, dentistry, nursing, medical laboratory, radiology, pharmacology, rehabilitation therapy, nutrition, health care administration, or home health care.
* be an independent student (i.e, over age 24 or have others dependent on you).
