The program awards scholarships of $1,000 to each selected qualified high school senior or college student as funding allows.
Recipients are selected by an independent committee of educators on the basis of criteria listed in this General Criteria. Mass communication majors will be accorded special consideration. The purpose is to encourage our community members to get involved with regional and national media.
GENERAL CRITERIA
Below is the general criteria for scholarship applicants:
* Applicants must be of Arab descent.
* Undergraduate student applicants must have at least a 3.0 GPA, and Graduate student applicants must have at least a 3.5 GPA.
* Applicants must be maintaining full time status:
- Graduate students - 6 credits or more
- Undergraduate students - 12 credits or more
- High School students - not applicable
* Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents, and reside in the state of Michigan.
* Financial need will be considered.
* Applicants majoring in mass communications will be given extra consideration.
* Relatives (members of immediate family) of board members of the Lebanese-American Heritage Club are not eligible.
