The Banatao Filipino American Education Fund will award five scholarships of $5,000 to qualified high school seniors who will enroll at four-year colleges or universities. Each scholarship is renewable up to three years on the basis of satisfactory academic performance in a full-time undergraduate program. Awards are for undergraduate study only.
CRITERIA
* Current high school senior
* Filipino heritage (50 percent or more)
* Cumulative high school GPA of at least 3.0 on an unweighted 4.0 scale
* Plans to attend four-year college or university in the upcoming fall
* Plans to major in engineering, computer or physical sciences (health professionals, such as doctors and nurses not included)
* Shows potential and motivation
* Demonstrates financial need
* Resident of one of the the following counties:
Northern California: Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Merced, Monterey, Napa, Sacramento, San Benito, San Francisco, San Joaquin, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, Solano, Sonoma, Stanislaus
Southern California: Los Angeles, Orange, San Diego
