The purpose of this fund is to provide financial assistance to qualified candidates planning to teach in the public school system. Candidates must have an undergraduate degree in the liberal arts, sciences or mathematics and be pursuing a master's degree in education. Up to ten scholarships of $2,500 will be awarded for the upcoming academic year. Scholarship recipients are selected based on academic achievement and financial need.
To be considered you must meet the following criteria:
* must be a permanent resident of Maryland
* have completed an undergraduate degree in the liberal arts, sciences or mathematics
* must take a minimum of six credits per semester in an accredited Master's program of teacher education in the fall
* must demonstrate financial need
