The Bruce and Marjorie Sundlun Scholarship Fund was established in 1990 with contributions from numerous individuals and nonprofit organizations who wanted to recognize Governor and Mrs. Sundlun for their devotion, leadership and financial commitment to the State's nonprofit sector. The purpose of the scholarship is to assist single parents in the pursuit of an education beyond high school.
SELECTION CRITERIA
Preference is given to single parents, either male or female, who are currently enrolled in a Rhode Island institute of higher learning or continuing education. This may include enrollment in an academic, trade, or vocational program. Preference will be given to applicants who are completing their first degree or certificate program. Applicants who are currently receiving public assistance, have recently received public assistance, or will soon be released from prison are encouraged to apply. Applicants must be Rhode Island residents and able to demonstrate financial need.
