Scholarship Description

There are two requirements for entering this scholarship program.

First, the student must submit a complete scholarship application online at the designated website. The application must include a short original, previously unpublished written response to the scholarship topic, 'If you could rename yourself, what would your new name be and why?' The student's written response must be written in English, with correct spelling and grammar, and it must not exceed 150 words. No substitutions of new drafts or corrected pages will be accepted once the original application is submitted. Limit one application per person.

Additionally, applicants must login and participate in the CollegeWeekLive.com virtual college fair, which is scheduled to be held online at www.collegeweeklive.com on March 25 and 26, 2009. By submitting an application, the student will automatically be registered to participate in the CollegeWeekLive.com event.

CollegeWeekLive.com is looking for applicants who follow directions, meet eligibility requirements, and submit short written responses that are well-written and clearly and creatively address the topic. On or about May 15, 2009, a qualified panel of judges will select one potential winner based on the eligibility criteria and based on the assessment of the overall application as follows: writing ability (25 percent), creativity (25 percent), originality (25 percent), and overall excellence (25 percent).
