Scholarship Description

The Diabetes Scholars Foundation Scholarship Program is available to incoming freshmen seeking a higher education at an accredited four year university, college, technical or trade school. This scholarship recognizes students who are actively involved in the diabetes community, who have high academic performance, who participate in community and/or extra-curricular activities and who have demonstrated that they are successfully managing the challenges of living with diabetes. Diabetes Scholars Foundation scholarships are not based on financial need.

Scholarship Awards:
At least fifteen $5,000 scholarships will be awarded for the upcoming school year.

* One $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a student residing in the state of Michigan and with plans to attend the University of Michigan (University of Michigan D.R.E.A.M. Scholarship)
* One $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a student residing in the state of Ohio (Josh Smith Memorial College Scholarship)

Students applying to the Diabetes Scholars Foundation $5,000 college scholarship who live in the State of Michigan and plan to attend the University of Michigan will automatically be considered for the D.R.E.A.M. Scholarship

Students applying to the Diabetes Scholars Foundation $5,000 college scholarship who live in the State of Ohio will automatically be considered for the Josh Smith Memorial College Scholarship.
