The Dr. John and Alice Madigan Memorial Scholarship was established in 1998 to provide scholarship support to students from the Greater Portland area who will be attending a four-year college or university program in theater, music, or the performing or visual arts. Recipients will be graduating seniors who demonstrate a sense of civic responsibility, strong moral character, a solid work ethic, participation in performing or visual arts programs or activities for the past two years, and high academic achievement. Preference will be given to graduates of Portland High School, Deering High School, Cheverus High School and Catherine McAuley High School.
