The Ferdinand Torres Scholarship provides one (1) scholarship of $1,500 to a full-time undergraduate or graduate student who presents evidence of economic need. To be eligible the applicant must reside in the United States, but need not be a citizen of the United States. Preference will be given to applicants residing in the New York City metropolitan area and new immigrants to the United States.
REQUIREMENTS
Proof of legal blindness: a statement prepared by an ophthalmologist or optometrist certifying that you are legally blind (i.e., have a best corrected visual acuity of 20/200 or less in the better eye, and/or a visual field of less than 20 degrees in the better eye).
Or
Official letter from a state or private agency for the blind, certifying that you are legally blind.
