Scholarship Description

The Houston Area Section of the Society of Women Engineers (SWE-HA) will award one (1) $1,000 scholarship on the basis of merit to a qualified high school senior woman who will pursue a formal college education in an engineering discipline. This award will be for the first year of study (non-renewable).


Eligibility:
To be eligible applicants must meet the following qualifications: Be a woman who is currently matriculating as a senior in high school. Preference will be given to students attending high school in the state of Texas, but scholarship eligibility is not limited to students within the state of Texas. She must enroll as a freshman majoring in an engineering discipline at an ABET accredited 4 year college or university, upon completion of high school. Applicants must have completed at least one regional FIRST competition.
