The Fordyce Remsen Lozier and Mary Williams Horr Lozier Scholarship was established in May 1993 to provide assistance to students who are members of the Sigma Chi fraternity attending Brown University and their spouses whether undergraduate or graduate school. The original chapter of initiation is not a determinant in selection, only the members in good standing with the General Fraternity. Two or three scholarships between $1,000 and $2,000 will be given annually with awards renewable up to four years if the student maintains good academic standing. A scholarship committee comprised of Brown University alumni who are Sigma Chi Fraternity members meets annually to conduct a competitive review of the applications.
SELECTION CRITERIA
In order to qualify as an applicant, you must meet the following criteria:
* Members of Sigma Chi Fraternity who are full-time undergraduate or graduate students at Brown
University. (Consideration will also be given to the children, grandchildren and spouses of Sigma Chi
members.)
* Able to demonstrate financial need.
* Able to demonstrate a history of academic excellence.
