GOAL: To encourage academic excellence and leadership development among African –American collegiate students in the engineering disciplines.
ELIGIBILITY:
* Minimum 3.0 GPA (on 4.0 scale)
* Current College Sophomore, Junior or Senior NSBE member
* Major in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering
* Must be a paid NSBE member.
* Must be a member of an under-represented race in engineering and science.
* Must be a U.S. citizen or possess a valid work authorization.
* Must demonstrate and interest in employment with Freescale Semiconductor.
* Acceptance of an internship (where and when available) with Freescale Semiconductor is required to receive award. (Internship availability will be established at time of awarding of scholarship.)
* Applicants must submit a 250-word maximum essay/statement describing how they will use their education to make a positive impact on the African-American community, and how this scholarship opportunity will advance your career goals and benefit Freescale Semiconductor.
* Applications will be evaluated and recipient(s) selected by Freescale Semiconductor representatives via the NSBE Online system. Only applications submitted for the Freescale Semiconductor Corporate Scholarship program will be considered for the award.
