The Lloyd Trotter African American Forum Scholarship program is funded by GE employees and matching fund contributions are generously provided by the GE Foundation. The scholarship is awarded to rising juniors and seniors majoring in specified technical disciplines attending an accredited university geographically located East of the Mississippi River (Regions I – IV). To qualify you must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. The scholarship is named after Lloyd G. Trotter, President and CEO of GE Industrial Systems, who is recognized for his on-going commitment to volunteerism and mentoring.
CRITERIA
* Must be paid NSBE members at time application is submitted (No exceptions)
* Must be a rising juniors and seniors (Senior or Graduating in the upcoming academic year)
* Must attend an accredited university geographically located East of the Mississippi River
* Applications must be submitted online
* All applicants must be a U.S. citizen or hold an official U.S. work authorization
* Scholarship Applications must also include an Official University/College transcript
* All applicants must submit one current resume with the application.
Scholarship recipients will be selected from a combination of the following criteria:
* Essay
* University Academic Achievement
* Service to NSBE (Chapter, Regional, and/or National)
* Other Professional, Campus and Community Activities
