The competition is open to those refugees and asylees who were assisted by HIAS to come to the United States.
The Awards
HIAS Scholarship Awards for U.S. students are intended for high school seniors (12th graders) planning to pursue higher education or students who are already enrolled in college, university or graduate school programs who will continue school the following year. Engineering, nursing, computers and other trade programs are all acceptable.
You must already have completed a full year of study at an accredited U.S. high school, undergraduate or graduate school by the time you are applying and you must provide HIAS with official transcripts for a minimum of two full semesters at any combination of U.S. high school, undergraduate or graduate school. The semester in which you are currently enrolled will not be considered by the Scholarship Committee.
