The Jack and Jeanette Chu Scholarship Fund was established by Jack and Jeanette Chu to support UC Berkeley students who major in or intend to major in Business Administration at the Haas School of Business, and plan to pursue business careers. In the first year of the Chu Scholarship, one scholarship of $5,000, renewable for a total of four years, will be awarded to a high school senior. In addition, two one-time scholarships of $2,500 will be awarded to junior or senior undergraduates who have been accepted or are enrolled as Business Administration majors at the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley.
CRITERIA
* Full-time student at University of California, Berkeley, in the Fall
* Asian heritage (at least 50 percent); preference given to students of Chinese heritage
* High school senior who intends to major in Business Administration at the Haas School of Business; OR undergraduate UC Berkeley junior or senior majoring in Business Administration at the Haas School of Business
* Demonstrates a commitment to pursue a career in business
* Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (unweighted)
* Preference given to students who have lived in Central America
* Preference given to students with a record of community service
NOTE: Finalists must be available for an interview in San Francisco in April 2008.
