The Council for Exceptional Children (CEC) annually confers a cash scholarship to a CEC student member from an ethnic background who is currently pursuing a degree in special education. The amount of the scholarship may vary from year-to-year depending on the amount of funds raised for the scholarship fund.
Award Criteria
Applicants must:
1. Be a current CEC student member and have been a member for at least one year.
2. Be a citizen of the United States or Canada.
3. Be a member of an ethnically diverse group.
4. Be a junior, senior, or graduate student enrolled in an accredited college or university for the academic year this award is given and majoring in special education.
5. Have a grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale in the applicant’s Major.
