The Program
Applicants must be dependents of members of Local No. 894 who are working at the calling and who have been in good standing for two years. Dependents of Local 894 union officers and staff are not eligible. A “dependent” is any child/stepchild of a Local 894 laborer for which you have legal custody and is listed as a dependent under Ohio Laborers’ Fringe Benefit Programs.
To qualify for this scholarship, graduating high school seniors and current college students (undergraduate) must have maintained a minimum grade point average of a 3.0 (based on a 4.0 scale) during his/her high school or college years. Additionally, the applicant must provide SAT or ACT scores if a current high school senior. The applicant must have a composite score of 1080 or higher on the SAT and/or a combined score of 23 or higher on the ACT.
