The Lapiz family members created the Lapiz Family Scholarship in honor of their parents, Apolonio and Arcadia Lapiz, who were farm workers, and to support students of farm working background who choose to pursue a college education at the University of California. The Lapiz Family Scholarship will award two $1,000 scholarships each year.
Criteria
* Full-time undergraduate student at a University of California campus (preference given to students at UC Davis and UC Santa Cruz)
* Farm worker or the child of farm or migrant workers
* Cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
* Demonstrate merit and financial need
* U.S. citizen or permanent resident
