The MJSA Education Foundation is a non-profit educational branch of the Manufacturing Jewelers and Suppliers of America, Inc. The MJSA Education Foundation Scholarship Fund Group consists of five endowment funds, which are managed by The Rhode Island Community Foundation. Scholarships are available for undergraduate or graduate students enrolled in tool making, design, metals fabrication or other jewelry related courses of study at accredited colleges, universities or nonprofit technical schools on the post-secondary level in the United States. Awards are not made for home study courses.
Several scholarships ranging from $500 to $2,000 will be given annually with awards renewable up to four years if the student maintains good academic standing.
SELECTION CRITERIA
The MJSA Education Foundation Scholarship Advisory Committee meets annually to conduct a competitive review of all applicants. This committee is comprised of industry professionals who represent a variety of disciplines in jewelry manufacturing, design or related services. All scholarship applicants are assessed with the following criteria in mind; course of study, career objectives, samples of work (where appropriate), financial need, jewelry industry experience, academic achievement and recommendations.
