The Program
The sponsor is the Oglebay Norton Foundation.
Purpose
To assist graduating high school seniors or current college students who are sons and daughters of full-time employees of Oglebay Norton Company and its subsidiaries, who meet specific criteria, finance their education.
Eligibility Requirements
* Student applicants must be sons or daughters of a full-time employee of Oglebay Norton Company or one of its subsidiaries.
* Students selected to receive awards for Oglebay Norton Company Employee Scholarship must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 upon graduation from high school. A cumulative grade point average of 3.0 also applies to current college students.
* Students selected for Oglebay Norton Company Employee should follow a full-time college course of study or major in a four-year college, two-year junior or community college or technical school.
* Students selected must maintain a 2.5 cumulative college grade point average in pursuit of a bachelor’s degree at an accredited two- or four-year institution of higher education in order to maintain the scholarship.
* Parent employed by Oglebay Norton or one of its subsidiaries must have one year of continuous service with Oglebay Norton or one of its subsidiaries as of April 1 of the application year.
* Children of Oglebay Norton executive officers are not eligible.
