Rocky Mountain Section awards three $1000 scholarships from our endowments: the Lottye Miner, Dorolyn Lines, and Pioneer Scholarships. These scholarships are for students already enrolled in an ABET accredited program for engineering or computer science, or are re-entering college after earning a previous degree.
SWE-RMS awards at least two $500 scholarships for students graduating from high school and entering college to study engineering or computer science. One scholarship is typically awarded to a student from a small, more rural school.
Must be a woman enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate engineering student (or reentry student) in an ABET accredited engineering or computer science program in Colorado or Wyoming (with the exception of zip codes 80800 – 81599 - Students in these zip codes may apply for scholarships through the Pikes Peak Section).
Must not be receiving full funding from another organization.
Applicants should demonstrate high academic performance and show an enthusiastic interest in their professional development in the field of engineering by participating in technical organizations, holding leadership positions, conducting research projects or pursuing engineering related work experience.
Application requires submittal of an essay, a transcript, two letters of recommendation and other supporting information.
Postmark deadline is February 1 with selections by April 15.
