The Society of Women Engineers Southwest Idaho Section has an annual scholarship program. The number of scholarships offered depends on the amount of donations received and the number/quality of applicants. In past years, the Section has awarded scholarships totaling $8000. To qualify, applicants must be female high school seniors from Southwest Idaho, intending to study engineering or a related field. Applicants must plan to attend a 4 or 5 year ABET accredited school. The scholarships are awarded primarily on the basis of a requested essay and scholastic achievement. The student's extracurricular activities are also considered. Applications are typically due at the end of March for the upcoming academic year.
