The Swiss Benevolent Society is sponsoring scholarship awards for undergraduate college students of Swiss descent having permanent residence in the greater Chicago area. The goal is to support and encourage students to pursue an education tailored to their interests and talents.
CRITERIA
* The applicant must be either a Swiss National with permanent US residency permit or of Swiss descent with documents of proof. Family genealogies are not accepted as proof since they usually only indicate places of birth, not places of origin (Heimatort) or a place of citizenship.
* The applicant must reside permanently in the state of Illinois or Southern Wisconsin (Dane, Grant, Green, Iowa, Jefferson, Kenosha, LaFayette, Milwaukee, Ozoukee, Racine, Rock, Walworth, Washington, and Waukesha counties only). Swiss students studying in the US on a student or visitor's visa are not eligible.
