Annually, NABJ awards more than $60,000 in scholarships to deserving students interested in pursuing careers in journalism. Scholarships are worth up to $25,000. Scholarships are open to any foreign or American born student, currently attending or entering an accredited four-year college/university in the U.S. or those who are candidates for graduate school.
Eligibility Criteria
Competition for the scholarship is open to any NABJ student member who is currently attending an accredited four-year university or graduate program. Students must be enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student who:
* Declared a concentration in visual journalism
* Maintains a minimum 2.75 GPA
* Has experience working on their campus newspaper or TV studio
* Has had an internship
Additional Criteria
* Previous NABJ scholarship winners are not eligible
* All scholarship winners must be members of NABJ before the grants are awarded
* All grants are awarded directly to the recipients college or university
