Scholarship Description

Since 1953, the American Society for Metals International Foundation and leading ASM Chapters nationwide have awarded scholarships totaling over $1 million. Currently 37 scholarships are awarded annually through the ASM International Foundation, which is supported by member contributions and other gifts. Most of these awards include a certificate of recognition, travel and housing allowances for attendance at the awards ceremony during the Society's annual Awards Dinner. The ASM Foundation Scholarship Awards and the ASM Foundation Technical & Community College Scholarship Awards are presented through local ASM chapters.

One year full tuition of up to $10,000. Established in 1996 by Mrs. Sue Woodside Shulec in honor of her grandfather, William Park Woodside, a man whose vision and leadership evolved into the founding of ASM International.
